MS POS 2009 Training
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As a feather in our cap, we have been contracted by Microsoft to handle their on-line dealer certification training for MS POS 2009. The first sessions are this week starting on Wednesday, November 11th. Getting ready for the classes has caused Kris and I to take even a deeper dive into MS POS 2009 and we learned a whole bunch of new things.
As stated before, while many things stayed the same, we are finding as we continue to convert users that a whole lot has changed as well. The POS front-end is snap and doesn't require a lot of retraining for a retail staff - in fact everyone we have moved over so far has been very pleased with the POS side of things.
However, the look and feel of the Manager View changes enough to drive some people crazy at first. But once through the hassle of changing, again the results of been good.
Therefore, to alleviate some of the roll over pain, we am planning on holding a full-day of MS POS 2009 Manager Training December 2nd, 2009 at Glenora Wine Cellars. We will be posting the details later this week. We will be doing the same in Virginia in early January. And for our friends at the Liberace Museum, we are planning a special trip to Las Vegas;-)
The training will be free for those who are current on their support contracts and a minimum fee for others.
Let me know if you are interested as soon as possible because class size is limited.
POS Computers- Great Deal
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While we normally don't sell PCs and have our customers purchase their computers directly from Dell or HP, I came across a HP deal I couldn't pass on. Through our HP distributor, I was able to pickup two HP RP3000's POS Computers with 3 year on-site warranties for $490 each plus $15 shipping for a total of $505 per machine. They normally retail for $650.
I grabbed the two with the intent to offer them to anyone who needs a computer, or maybe two, for their MS POS 2009 upgrade. Or just or to use with Store Operations.

New Phone Service
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Within the next few weeks we are rolling over our IP telephone service from one provider to another with the hope of being able to provide better phone support. Our new provider will be providing us line-to-line roll over and some other cool features so we can elminate some of the phone tag issues we currently have.
However, as with any change involving more then one phone company Murphy's Law may apply. So if you call the office within the next few weeks and we don't answer or you can not leave a message - don't panic we are still here. Call one one of the cell phones listed below.
